Youth Ministry Assistant Needed

Kirkmont Church is looking for a part-time Youth Ministry Assistant to provide Christ-centered relational ministry to our teens – focusing especially on female teens.

Dan Borgelt

Lead Pastor

Education and Ministry Experience: I received my Bible and Theology degree from Malone University in ’02, and then my Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in ’05. After serving in youth ministry in college and seminary I have been serving as an ordained pastor in the EPC since 2005. I’ve been here at Kirkmont since February 2015.

Job Description and Vision: As Lead Pastor, my primary area of focus is planning our Sunday morning services, including the regular preaching. A big part of my job also involves making sure all of our various ministries and staff stay on the same page as we seek to follow where God is leading us. I have a passion to see us effectively fulfill the great commission through loving and caring outreach and intentional biblically based discipleship.

Personal: My wife and I met in college as Young Life volunteers and we’ve always shared a passion for doing ministry together. We were married in 2003 and are blessed with 5 children. I absolutely love playing just about any sport, going to the movies, my favorite TV show is "The Office" and I am a huge  Michigan Football Fan!

BJ Newman

Adult Discipleship & Care Pastor

Education and Ministry Experience: After completing a BA in English Literature in 2003, I enlisted in the Air National Guard and moved to Virginia Beach. While there, I taught high school English, worked in youth ministry, and started seminary at Regent University. In 2011, the Air Force sent me to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, to complete a Farsi language program. I later completed my M.Div. from Regent in 2014. In 2016, I was ordained with the EPC to commission as an Air Force Chaplain, and subsequently joined Kirkmont as a pastor in May of 2017.

Job Description and Vision: My role at Kirkmont involves leading adult education, which includes small groups and Sunday school classes, as well as counseling and pastoral care. My vision is to inspire students of the Word to glorify God by living like Christ in every area of their lives through the Holy Spirit.

Personal: Growing up as a Buckeye in a small town on the Ohio River, where I met my wife, I inherited a love of God’s creation. I enjoy fishing, hunting, and grilling out with family. I played college baseball, and still love to workout. I am also a die-hard theology nerd who loves to read old books.

JOsh FEllrath

Children's Ministry & Community Relations Director

Education and Ministry Experience: I have earned an Associate of Applied Business degree from Owens Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from The University of Findlay. My professional experience includes positions in B2B sales, marketing, and advertising. God called me to pursue full-time ministry instead of business in April of 2019 and I have worked at Kirkmont ever since. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Divinity degree program at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with plans to graduate in May of 2022.

Job Description and Vision: As Children’s Ministry Director at Kirkmont, my primary responsibilities are to oversee the programming, curriculum selection, volunteers, and event planning for our children’s ministry. I also enjoy teaching Kids’ Church every Sunday morning, usually in our 2nd-5th Grade “Kirkmont Crew” classroom. My prayer for our children’s ministry is that God would grow each of our kids into men and women who earnestly desire to follow Him with all of their beings, for all of their lives. My vision for Kirkmont’s community relations efforts is that we would glorify God, fulfill the Great Commission, and clearly and effectively communicate Kirkmont’s mission, vision, and values to everyone in our community.

Personal: My beautiful wife, Rebecca (Kirkmont’s Nursery Director), and I have been married since July of 2011. We have been blessed with four amazing kids: Ryan, Rose, Ian, and Owen. My favorite things to do with them include taking walks together, having weekly “date nights” with each child on a rotating basis, and coaching their soccer teams. In my personal free time, I enjoy playing pickup sports of all kinds, listening to music, watching movies, reading, and writing. Having lived in California until age 12, I’m also a die-hard fan of Oakland Raiders football. If you get a chance, come find me on a Sunday and say hello. I can’t wait to meet you!

Daniel Galey

Contemporary Worship & Youth Ministry Director

Education and Ministry Experience: I graduated from Cedarville University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in music and a minor in Bible. While there, I served on the worship team at my local church and became involved in the discipleship ministries on campus. I officially joined Kirkmont as the contemporary worship director in July of 2017.

Job Description and Vision: My role at Kirkmont involves leading the music for the contemporary service. In addition to leading worship each Sunday, I organize the praise teams, select the songs, and lead the weekly band rehearsals. I hope and pray that God uses my role as worship leader to provide a means for our congregation to glorify God as they worship him through music. I, along with many volunteers, also lead the JR and SR High Youth Group meetings and events here at Kirkmont.

Personal: I was born in Germany and lived there until 2002, when my family moved to Golden, Missouri. I met my wife at the beginning of my freshman year at Cedarville in 2013, and we have been married since June of 2017. It’s been a joy being married to her, and she has been a tremendous blessing to me in my ministry. We have one son named Ezra.  I’m a huge German soccer and New Orleans Saints fan. I enjoy watching movies, playing sports/working out, talking about theology, and eating just about any food (especially bread and butter).
