Kids
Ministry

Jesus called the children to Him and said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these."

Luke 18:16

Here at Kirkmont, we believe Jesus values children, so we do too. Your kids, even the noisy ones, are always welcome in our adult gatherings. We also provide several ministries designed just for kids.

Nursery

Our free childcare is available during both our 9:00 and 10:30 AM Worship Services, for the entire service or just part of it.

We have three nursery rooms divided by age:
0—23 months are in N1
2 year olds are in N2
3 year olds are in N3.

Our nursery workers consist of a mixture of paid staff and volunteers and all of them see their role as not just childcare but as a ministry.  A typical nursery hour includes free play, interactive play, story time, snack, and a craft.  For your convenience and peace of mind, our nursery is located in the Kids Wing.

Cry Room

Parents and their Nursery-Aged Children
Our Cry Room is located at the back of the sanctuary and is a great place to hear and see the service but not be heard.  This room is equipped with comfortable seating, toys, a sink, and a diaper changing station.

Kids Church

We love having kids at Kirkmont! During both of our services, children preschool through 5th grade can join Kids Church, where they’ll experience engaging, age-appropriate Bible teaching in a safe, fun, and caring environment led by our trusted volunteers.

Preschool–1st Grade
Children check in at Room K3 in our Kids Wing before the service (check-in opens 15 minutes early) and remain there for the full service.

2nd–5th Grade
Children begin the service with their families in the sanctuary and are dismissed partway through to Room K1 in the Kids Wing.

After the service, a parent or guardian should pick up children from their classroom.
We can’t wait to welcome your family!

Child Safety at Kirkmont

1. All volunteers and staff working with kids must pass a criminal background check.

2. All volunteers working with kids have gone through our formal membership process.

3. There will always be at least two non-related adults in the room with your child.

4. Every child must be checked in by a parent/guardian and will not be dismissed to anyone other than the parent/guardian with that child’s matching name badge.
5. We will not leave the room with your child (unless the entire class is evacuated due to an emergency).

6. If your child needs you for any reason, we will send a text message  to notify you.

7. Our volunteers are committed to interacting with your child in a Christ-like manner including only non-physical correction if needed.

8. If your child is mistreated by, or mistreats, another child, we will notify you.
