Music Program
The music at Kirkmont is an important part of our worship services. We use many different instruments and styles of music, mixing the traditional and the contemporary. Our goal is to enhance the worship experience for all who come to praise and worship God. To hear the choir singing "It is Good to Praise the Lord", click here
Adult Choir
Kirkmont’s adult choir is a group of people who feel called to praise God with their hearts and voices. Our repertoire consists of a wide variety of sacred music. The choir is open to adult singers who are able to commit to a 7:30-9:00 p.m. rehearsal on Thursday evenings. We also rehearse Sunday mornings before the 11:00 a.m. Worship Service. We usually perform Christmas and Easter Cantatas, and participate in our annual Music Sunday. We currently have about 25 members, and we are always looking for more. Please contact Amy Vaubel with any questions, if you are interested in joining!
Praise and Worship Band
Kirkmont’s Praise and Worship Band ministers every Sunday morning in our 11:00 worship service. This band is composed of musicians who wish to use their musical gifts in praise and service to our Lord. It consists of drums, synthesizer, bass guitar, trumpet, trombone, clarinet, soprano saxophone, and three singers. We also use our three-manual Allen digital organ, our Steinway grand piano, and our Kurzweil synthesizer.
We have another band, the Kirkmont Shakertown Stompers, that shares their talents at various events throughout the community playing a Dixieland jazz style music.
Joybells!
We have five octaves of English hand bells and three octaves of hand chimes that we use in our worship from time to time. The bell choir also participates annually in the Greene County Spring Ring Bell Festival, which we hosted several times in the past. We can always use more ringers!!
