Kirkmont Upcoming Events

Are you ready for some great summer family fun? This summer the Children’s Ministry Team will host an event every Wednesday through August 18. The Summertime Kidz program is for those who were enrolled in Preschool during the 2009-10 school year through the fifth grade. Parents will need to stay and experience the fun with their children; unaccompanied children cannot be accommodated. Events will alternate weekly between afternoon and evening activities, so that families with both parents working outside the home will have an opportunity to enjoy the fun. Each event costs $3/child and payment is required at the time of registration. Please sign up in the Narthex following Worship services beginning June 20. Questions? Annual Canoe Trip

Join us for fun in the sun. Kirkmont Annual Canoe trip is Sunday, August 15. Cost is $28.50 per canoe and $5.00 per person for dinner after our adventure on the river (Please be ready to pay when you sign up). Meet at the Rivers Edge, 3928 Highway 42 in Waynesville, at 1:00 PM. After a safety briefing, we will be transported up river so the fun can begin. Sign-ups begin today in the Narthex and continue through August 8. If you have any questions, please contact Jay Powell.

Shakertown Stompers

The Shakertown Stompers will be in concert at Lofino Park in Beavercreek on Sunday, August 8, at 7:00 PM. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair. They will also perform at the Clifton Opera House in Clifton, OH, on Saturday, August 28, at 7:30 PM. Admission is $7.

Alpha Course

Kirkmont’s next Alpha course will begin on Monday, September 13. Alpha is a practical introduction to the Christian faith, offering an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. This 10-week course allows people to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for their lives today. If you’d like to attend Alpha, please contact Pat Youther at 426-8292.

Gospel Mission Work Day at Camp Jabez
August 7, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Camp Jabez is a ministry of the Gospel Mission dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of young people and their families through outdoor activities, interaction with horses, the beauty of God’s creation, and recreation provided by a staff of dedicated workers, missionaries, and volunteers. Camp Jabez is located adjacent to the trails and recreation area of Caesar’s Creek State Park near Waynesville.
We will meet in the Church parking lot at 9:00 AM to carpool to the camp outside of Xenia and work until 2:00 PM. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to sign up, call June Washburn at 426-8471.
The next Gospel Mission work day, following the August 7th Camp Jabez work day, is November 13, 2010 at the Gospel Mission in Dayton!

Annual Golf Tournament

The golf outing scramble has been set up for October 2 and will be $32.00 per golfer. This fee includes green fees, cart, prizes, and a delicious dinner. The first tee time will be at noon from the number one tee box. We will be playing the Locust Course this year. We had been playing the Maple Course in previous years. Sign up with payment will begin in September. Any questions contact Vic Cox.
